This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz knows how Jack dies in the Season 2 premiere, and her reaction is the first warning to start preparing now.

*Before we start, there might be some minor spoilers ahead.*

One moment all This Is Us fans are preparing themselves for is the eventual reveal of how Jack died. We knew from the beginning that Jack isn’t around in the present day timeline and throughout the first season his death was hinted at more than a few times.

Kate Pearson — played by Chrissy Metz — is perhaps the most affected by Jack’s death. All three of the Pearson children were damaged by the death of their father, but on a few occasions it was heavily suggested that Kate has struggled the most.

At one point in the show she even states that Jack’s death was her fault.

While we don’t yet know how Jack died, that answer is coming in the upcoming season premiere. Mandy Moore essentially “spoiled” this for us and other folks at the show have spoken out about the moment albeit with extreme caution.

Metz is one of those speaking about Jack’s death and — well, oh boy. The actress spoke with Bustle and noted her reaction to Jack’s death:

"“I thought, ‘Oh my God!,'” Metz tells Bustle about how she felt after she first learned how Jack died."

As Scar says in The Lion King, be prepared.

Theories about how Jack died have been flying around the internet for months now, but one underrated aspect to it all is our reaction. We’re all getting caught up in the at of trying to unspool the mystery of Jack’s death in an effort to distract ourselves from how we will ultimately feel about it.

It’s one thing to theorize the death of a character but it’s another to actually experience and witness. No matter how Jack goes, it’s going to be an intense moment for the show and one we’ll all need the maximum amount of tissues for.

Metz’s reaction to learning of the death herself is only more proof.
