Mandy Moore wants This Is Us fans to know that waiting to find out how Jack died will be worth it in the end.

Basically the entire run of This Is Us has revolved around one major mystery: How does Jack die? We were promised some resolution in the season premiere, but that didn’t really happen. I mean, we saw that there was a house fire that destroyed the Pearson’s home, but beyond that we don’t know much more about Jack’s death. There was no definitive proof that Jack died in the fire, it was just a moment where we as fans had to connect the dots ourselves.

As we prepare ourselves for the third episode of the season, we still don’t know that much about how Jack died. Fans aren’t ready to riot, but there’s an element of frustration over this maybe being played out a bit too long.

Mandy Moore has another way of seeing this.

Moore spoke to Entertainment Weekly and said fans upset that the mystery about Jack’s death hasn’t totally unraveled will see that the wait was worth it in the end.

"It will absolutely be worth the wait. I just think there are other elements of this family and their story unfolding that it’s fascinating and just as heartbreaking. That loss is something that has reverberated throughout the family and has affected everybody’s life in such a deep way. There are emotional ramifications that have already happened onscreen because of this death."

It’s not something that fans should be super mad about, but there’s room to be a little frustrated that we were teased with information we didn’t get. Of course, there’s a decent chance Jack did die in the house fire, we’re just reading way too much into this out of denial. There’s also they mystery of the timeline leading up to his death that we can now obsess over, rather than the specifics of his death.

Truthfully, for a show as emotionally packed as This Is Us, finding out the context of Jack’s death is infinitely more interesting than finding out how it happened.
