Finding Escobar’s Millions finale exclusive: Has Ben & Doug’s search finally paid off

After what has been an incredible debut season thus far, Discovery Channel’s breakout new series Finding Escobar’s Millions has reached its conclusion. This fall, we’ve joined former CIA operation officers Ben Smith and Doug Laux on the adventure of a lifetime as they’ve tracked down lead after lead in hopes of discovering Pablo Escobar’s hidden fortune. It’s been a season of ups and downs, but as it comes to a close the guys are closer than ever to finally achieving their goals!
As Season 1 comes to a close, Doug and Ben’s chat with former hitman Popeye, sends them to the hometown of Escobar’s former partner, Gacha, who is rumored to have buried the missing millions somewhere on his property. Hoping the lead will pan out, Ben and Doug assemble their team and head out to the estate where they must race against the clock on multiple sites in hopes of making a game-changing discovery.
“Gacha and Pablo were business partners and made billions of dollars. Gacha was known to bury his emeralds, gold, cash,” Ben explains in the opening moments of our exclusive sneak peek from tonight’s finale as we catch up with him and the team on Gacha’s property.
Following up on a lead, the team has arranged a digging operation in hopes of unearthing the long-hidden millions. While their efforts at first seem futile, their luck soon changes when they discover brick which is a good indicator that they’re on the right path. With the metal detectors picking up strong readings from the area, the team are hit with a sudden jolt of enthusiasm and begin to dig again which leads to the discover of a concrete layer which very well could be the final obstacle standing between the guys and Escobar’s hidden millions!
