More from Hidden Remote

From the moment it was announced that Disney had purchased Fox, fans of the Fox broadcasting network began to voice their concerns with whether Disney’s purchase of Fox would bring about the end of their favorite series or the type of content produced by the broadcast channel. Given the wave of information and sheer amount of equities acquired from the deal, it’s understandable to be concerned with how a buyout will affect the shows you tune into weekly and that have found a special place in your heart.

While the future remains uncertain thanks to Disney’s newfound control over 20th Century Fox, the good news is that the Fox broadcasting network was not part of the deal. As noted by TVLine:

"“The deal does not include the Fox broadcasting network or Fox News. Also not included in the deal are Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2. These remaining assets will be spun-off by 21st Century Fox to form a new company.”"

While Fox will remain out of the hands of Disney brass the same cannot be said of Fox’s sister channels. Under the $66 billion dollar deal, Disney has become the owner of the FX Networks channels of FX, FXX and FXM as well as National Geographic channels NatGeo and NatGeo WILD which will both move to the Disney banner via the sale.
