Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series The Crown may soon be adding an Oscar-nominated actress to its ranks in the form of Helena Bonham Carter.

More from Hidden Remote

If The Crown creator Peter Morgan has is way, Season 3 might be adding an extremely high-profile name to its ranks as Oscar-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter is rumored to be in talks with Netflix to join the Emmy-nominated series third season.

As first reported by Deadline, Carter is in negations to take over the role of Princess Margaret – a role which has been played by actress Vanessa Kirby throughout the show’s first two seasons – come Season 3 as the show jumps forward in time to explore another period in the lives of the characters at the center of the hit series. Carter’s casting would be a major get for the show and, in turn, The Crown could easily be the vehicle which helps Carter take home her first Emmy.

Should Carter sign on to join the show, she would join actress Olivia Colman who has been tapped to take over the role of Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy as part of Morgan’s plan to bring in new stars to take on the roles of the show’s various characters as time progresses.

As of press time, Season 3 has not officially been announced but two additional seasons are rumored to already be in the works making the renewal a mere stipulation at this point.
