Jensen Ackles gets real with a family business

Supernatural is all about the “family business” and now Jensen Ackles has taken the motto off screen.

Jensen Ackles was a long-time home brewing hobbyist. He and his brother-in-law Gino Graul would make their own brews for their own tastes and friends. Now the two have taken it one step further, and brought in other family members too.

You may have heard of the Family Business Beer Co. If you haven’t, get on Twitter and follow it! This is Ackles’ latest business venture and he co-owns the business with his brother-in-law, his parents-in-law (Ed and Debby Graul) and his wife, Danneel Ackles. This is something a long time in the making, as fans learned about the business venture earlier in 2017. However, it’s now officially opening for business.

What’s the Family Business Beer Co.?

When Ackles and his brother-in-law found a love for home brewing, they decided to join together and start a new business. They wanted somewhere for beer lovers to go, but also a place for families. After all, it’s all about the Ackles kids on Jensen and Danneel’s social media!

So, they secured a property in Texas Hill Country, created their own beers on tap and added a playground just for the kids. There’s also a food truck, as who wouldn’t want to encourage drinking sensibly and enjoying a meal together as a family.

How did the name come about? Well, it wasn’t an easy decision. Jensen knew that it had to be catchy but easy to remember. For years they referred to their venture as the “family business,” since that’s what it was. Eventually the name became official and it was a cute nod to Jensen’s show, Supernatural.

The slogan for the bar will even make Supernatural fans smile: “serving people, fermenting things…” You get the drift, right?

When’s it open?

It was the family and friends open night on Jan. 4. A few photos were shared on social media to mark the occasion. The official open for the public is “soon,” with some reports saying this week.

This is just a weekend place to visit, open Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It’s also not going to be open too late, making it the perfect place for families to visit, people to relax after work and for individuals just to enjoy a few home brewed beers.
