Young Sheldon season 2: Has CBS’ Big Bang Theory spinoff been renewed?

After securing the No. 1 spot as the season’s biggest hit, it should come as no surprise to discover that Young Sheldon has secured a second season.

Right out of the gate, Young Sheldon made its presence felt by delivering record ratings to become the season’s No. 1 new comedy. As such, it seems only fitting that CBS’ The Big Bang Theory spinoff has become the network’s first renewal for the 2018-19 season – an announcement made by CBS ahead of their 2018 Television Critics Association winter press tour presentation.

We can’t wait to see Chuck, Steve, Jim and Todd’s vision for how the Cooper family deals with Sheldon growing a year older…and smarter.”"

Ranking as the No. 1 new comedy, Young Sheldon is averaging 16.1 million total viewers and a 3.3 demo rating in the coveted 18-49 age demographic. With those numbers, the series comes behind only one other comedy: The Big Bang Theory, which continues to be a dominant force.
