A Sad, But Sweet General Hospital Moment: Maxie and Nina get comfort from someone totally unexpected

It was one of those rare and unforgettable moments that happened this past week on GH.

Viewers are praising the General Hospital writers on a job well done this past week. While it was very sad that Det. Nathan West died, it has brought out some of the best acting in daytime TV. The pain and heartbreak of losing a husband, a brother, a son, and a best friend could be felt by all who watched.

One last kiss 

Nathan left behind his wife, Maxie, and their unborn child. She is obviously devastated by her loss, as is Nathan’s sister, Nina. They were both in Maxie and Nathan’s apartment trying to grapple with what just happened. Just as they were sitting down to plan the funeral, something surprising happened. 

The last scene on Friday’s episode of General Hospital left a huge impact, and also left fans crying even more. Nathan West unexpectedly reappeared! Just like a slight whisper, he showed up behind his wife and sister to give them his comfort and love…and also one last kiss. He bent down to kiss the top of their heads so gently, but his presence was felt by both Maxie and Nina. It was one of those rare scenes that will most likely be remembered for a long time. 

Strength to carry on 

This scene was just perfect for this story line and an excellent remembrance of Nathan for his last scene with his girls. He may actually show up one more time as his mother has not been shown since she left the hospital right after he died. However, she is expected to get some comforting words from Franco Baldwin this week, according to Soap Central.

Liesl doesn’t have many friends in Port Charles, but Franco has stuck by her. They have both done some terrible things in the past, so Franco gets her. Look for some touching scenes between the two. Since Nathan popped up to give his wife and sister some comfort, it may be that he will do the same for his mother as well.  

The funeral 

Nathan will be laid to rest in the coming days. It is expected to be a real tear jerker. How will his family and friends carry on? Maxie has lost her soul mate and the father of their first baby together. General Hospital spoilers have hinted that she and her ex, Spinelli, will be getting back together eventually. That may not happen for a while though. He is one person who can bring her comfort through this tragic loss.
