Han Solo solo trailer debuted today on Good Morning America. Looks like we see how Solo becomes “the best in the galaxy.” Academy life didn’t suit him, apparently.

Han Solo, an anthology movie that’s upcoming and likely tells the tale of how this legendary character became “the best pilot in the galaxy”, had a trailer debut exclusively on Good Morning America. A teaser of the Star Wars flick debuted during the Superbowl to build anticipation and now this recent footage has a little more meat on its bones. It seems trailers before trailers are a thing these days.

This trailer already shows Han’s rebellious nature as an independent thinker. However, why join the academy with that attitude to begin with since following orders is a way of life? This flick may dabble into that way of thinking of the young Han Solo as he probably will have it figured out through trial and error that going his own direction was in his destiny. However, did he really have an agenda since he’s a smuggler?

The Han Solo trailer also showed a fascinating piece that could have been a nod to The Empire Strikes Back. When evading The Empire, unbeknownst to them, Solo and the rest of the crew wound up in the belly of an alien beast. They barely escaped from being chomped to bits.

This recent trailer seems to pay tribute to a similar situation where they thought they were safe. Again, a huge alien starts thrashing about while Solo practices evasive maneuvers around the tentacled beast.

This is reminiscent of older films where comedic moments in the outdoors showed someone hiding out in a cave only to have come across a hibernating bear.

The Han Solo teaser trailer, which aired last night on the Superbowl, seemed to shed some light on whether not he was incognito serving only himself.

Next: Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer might arrive next week

No indicator about story behind Han’s acquisition of the Millennium Falcon, so we’ll have to wait and see on May 25 of this year when Solo: A Star Wars Story debuts.
