In a couple of hours, the first set of fans who have watched Black Panther will be walking out of theaters with a lot to talk about! One of the many subjects to discuss are the post-credit scenes.

Black Panther has arrived! If you haven’t watched movie and are wondering if the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment features post-credit scenes you must not know Marvel too well, because the answer is always a big fat YES. And if you’ve already seen the movie and want to breakdown the scenes (there’s two), we’re all here for it!

Spoiler warning: We watched an advanced screening of the movie, so spoilers are ahead…

Black Panther includes a mid-credits and post-credits scene. First up, the mid-credits scene breakdown:

Wakanda is out of the bag! The mid-credits scene shows T’Challa in a conference with the U.N. introducing himself, Wakanda, and announcing he is opening his borders and offering everyone Wakanda’s resources and aid to any who may need it. Everyone in the room is skeptical, one of the men present goes as far as asking T’Challa what Wakanda can possibly have to offer any of them, to which T’Challa simply gives a smirk before the screen fades to black.

While it’s great to see that T’Challa has now opened the window of possibilities by making his resources available, it’s the end-credits scene that’s awesome.

A couple of kids are staring down at the camera, we assume someone is asleep. Our assumptions are proven right when the kids run out of the hut and we see they’re at a beautiful village, but we still don’t see who they were staring at. Our minds are going wild trying to predict who it is, when it’s really pretty obvious — Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), or as they call him there, “White Wolf,” steps out of the hut. Shuri (Letitia Wright), T’Challa’s sister, greets him outside.

Notes:

Bucky isn’t wearing his old arm. Shuri asks Bucky to come with her to, we can only assume, give him a new one she has created, the one we see him wear in the Infinity War trailer.

The nickname “White Wolf” means something. According to Vanity Fair, White Wolf is the name of a Black Panther comic books character. In the comics, King T’Chaka adopts Hunter (whose alter-ego is later White Wolf) after his parents die in a plane crash crossing over Wakanda, and raises him as T’Challa’s brother. This story line won’t be the case for this movie though, and was more than likely simply a nod to the comics.

Black Panther is now in theaters. He will return to fight alongside the Avengers in Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
