Ready Player One gives more content and teases the inspirational Willy Wonka soundtrack. Steven Spielberg will bring a “world of pure imagination”.

More from Hidden Remote

Ready Player One is an on-screen adaptation of a real page turner written by Ernest Cline. It’s a very quick read, and now those pages will be projected on the big screen via the vision of Steven Spielberg.

Cline said himself last year that he found the story comparable to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, according to Deadline Hollywood.  But this time replace the candy maker with a video game designer instead. Then you can add-on a golden ticket replacement that needs to be found in a virtual environment.

"“If Willy Wonka was a video game designer instead of a candy maker and he held his golden ticket contest inside the worlds greatest video game — that’s the essence of what the story is.”"

Now the recent Ready Player One trailer had with it the “Pure Imagination” song playing along with the footage. For those familiar with the book, you could probably put the pieces of the footage together what you had already imagined from the publication.

The footage shows iconic characters and props from 80s flicks. That being said, who no other than Spielberg himself would have the ability to recreate this on the big screen, with him being such an 80s icon himself. Could a younger version of him from the 80s make a cameo appearance in it as someone’s avatar? There are even familiar 90s icons, too.

There are millions of people spending a good majority of time in the Oasis, a virtual environment that provides escapism from a dystopian era. Many like Wade Owen Watts yearn for a time where they wished they’d grown up in that era.

After all, it’s 2045 and a dystopian future is the product of the real world where resources are dwindling and things are grim. What other place than the Oasis to escape to in order to forget what’s going on in the real world.

Ready Player One is in theaters March 29, 2018.
