Doctor Who Parody

As a long-time Doctor Who fan, this was always one of my most highly anticipated parodies. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t come out quite that well, but boy the girls did it. It’s possible to imagine David Tennant as “Ten” running around the TARDIS and doing the Time Warp.

The choice of song was perfect, considering the Doctor’s ability to travel through space and time. But the girls managed to pull in the world of both the Doctor Who franchise and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with the Daleks replacing the professor/narrator. And of course, the use of the various iconic monsters and Ten’s companions throughout.

Sherlock Holmes Parody

If you haven’t watched Sherlock Holmes with Benedict Cumberbatch, this parody may not quite hit the spot. I remember watching it before catching the series and not quite getting it. I enjoyed it, but there was something missing. The minute I’d watch the series, everything clicked into place and it quickly became a firm favorite.

Let’s just start with the opening. The use of the violin for the intro instantly gave the Sherlock feel. Then there was all the iconic filming locations in London. Yes, the sisters travelled to London to film it all and it’s clearly obvious with the swimming pool, Baker Street and more. More than all that was the ability to become Sherlock and Watson, with the main focus on the Hindi sisters after so many years of bringing in special guests or focusing on a few side characters.
