This February 19 Celebrity Big Brother recap is packed with spoilers. That includes the name of the fourth BB Celeb evictee. During the February 18 episode, CBS viewers learned the name of the new Head of Household. Omarosa won the HOH Competition, giving her the power to name two nominees for eviction. Omarosa went with Ross Mathews and Brandi Glanville, taking the opportunity to put a dent in the primary alliance among the Big Brother celebs.

This Episode 9 recap comes from a live CBS presentation on Monday, February 19, at 8 p.m. PT/ET. The show opened by giving a quick Episode 8 recap. Omarosa had just revealed her nominations for eviction and the fallout was immediate. The core four alliance of Ross, Brandi, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Ariadna Gutierrez were quite worried about their places in the game. The Diary Room sessions shown to open the episode showed just how worried they were about going home next.

Omarosa reveals her goals

Making no secret of her plans, Omarosa revealed that she was working to break up the pairs. This was a strategy that Shannon Elizabeth told James Maslow he needed to use after she was eliminated from the game. The two pairs that Omarosa was targeting were Ross/Marissa and Ariadna/Brandi. This was where her two nominations came from. As a result, the core four alliance was at serious risk of losing a member on Monday night.

Ariadna started to realize the alliances Omarosa had made. She pieced together that Omarosa had side deals with James, Mark McGrath, and Metta World Peace. This definitely placed her (Omarosa) in a favorable position this weekend, although being HOH was also a huge advantage. Ross then started working on James and Mark, pushing hard to convince them to not trust Omarosa. James took full advantage of the situation, as he worked to convince Marissa to turn on Ariadna. While she was hesitant to turn on Ariadna, it became her only way to save Ross.

The Veto Competition

Host Julie Chen gave the houseguests news about the Veto Competition, stating that they were playing for the VIP Veto. With the VIP Veto, the winner could choose to use it twice at the Veto Ceremony. Consequently, the Veto winner could take a lot of power away from the Head of Household. This perked up the attention of the nominees, as well as their alliance members. This Power of Veto necklace may have suddenly become the most important one of the winter season.

The POV Competition was called “Invitation Only,” requiring the houseguests to run down a red carpet to retrieve puzzle pieces. The first person to complete their puzzle would win the VIP Veto and with it the power to shake up Omarosa’s nominations. Joining Omarosa, Ross, and Brandi in the competition were Marissa, Mark, and Metta. It was a tight race between Ross and Omarosa to finish the puzzle, but Ross ended up winning the Power of Veto. That may have been the biggest moment of this entire February 19 Celebrity Big Brother recap.

The Veto Ceremony

At the Veto Ceremony, Ross used the power to save himself. Omarosa then named Metta as the replacement nominee. When Ross declined to use the VIP Veto a second time, it finalized Brandi and Metta as the nominees for eviction. Despite the best efforts of producers, the VIP Veto power turned out to be a dud. Metta, much like Keshia before him, decided that he wanted to quit Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. This, despite less than a week remaining in the winter season.

The fourth Eviction Ceremony

The Eviction Ceremony went exactly as expected, with the rest of the BB Celeb house unanimously voting out Metta World Peace. Brandi thanked him for quitting, but this was not what fans of the show wanted to see. Having celebrities quit has damaged the excitement level of the show. Consequently, this also proved to undermine Omarosa, who had tried to make a bold game move. Instead, it was just a wasted HOH for the week.
