How did This Is Us fare in the ratings after its Winter Olympics hiatus? Here are the numbers the Pearsons pulled this Tuesday!

As if anyone had been worried, This Is Us has returned to reclaim its ratings throne! The latest episode found the tearjerker closing the book on the high-octane heartbreak of the two previous editions and having a little bit too much fun in Las Vegas. Still, the episode brought the emotion and managed to make us cry during a Magic Mike Live performance.

But did viewers lose interest in This Is Us after the truth about Jack’s death was revealed? Not a chance. Less than one month after pulling in record ratings during their post-Super Bowl airing, This Is Us returned to steady but lower ratings. Tuesday’s new episode brought in number equivalent to Season 2’s most steady ratings, though they were lower than the season’s greatest heights.

TV By the Numbers reports This Is Us brought in a 2.5/9 rating and share and an impressive 9.71 million viewers. Although those numbers are down from the Feb. 6 episode, which brought in a 2.7/10 and 10.13 million viewers, they are right on par with the season’s sweet spot. (The lowest ratings arrived on Halloween with a 2.0/7 and 8.43 million viewers.)

While This Is Us does return a bit down from the previous episode, the drama boasts a big win for NBC as its rating easily secures the top spot of Tuesday night. Lead-in The Voice and CBS timeslot competition Bull each drew more viewers — 10.77 and 10.61 million respectively — but the Pearsons can’t be beat when it comes to the number that matters.

But This Is Us fans should rest assured: The Pearsons are doing just fine. Well, they might still have some issues to iron out in their lives, but their ratings indicate that we don’t need to worry about them for a minute. The series will be back for two more episodes of Season 2, which will surely garner a ton of fervent interest from viewers in the ratings and otherwise, and it will of course return next fall with a third season of 18 more episodes. Long live Tissue Tuesday!
