This Is Us season 2, episode 17 preview: Getting to know the real Deja

What’s happening on penultimate episode of This Is Us Season 2? Beth and Randall open their home to Deja and learn more about family.
While there might be some This Is Us fans out there still eager to check back in with the Pearson family post-Jack’s death, we’ll have to wait a little longer. Besides, who’s in a hurry to give our tear ducts another workout? After the Las Vegas episode hit us with some unexpected emotion, this week’s episode centering on Deja’s return to the Pearsons will certainly get the waterworks flowing.
In the final moments of last week’s episode, Beth and Randall finally came together to pursue Randall’s worries about Deja’s wellbeing. The best couple on This Is Us (sorry, but you know it’s true) found their former foster daughter sleeping on the street in a car with her mother. Will Beth and Randall try to fight for custody of Deja, or will they instead lend a helping hand to Deja and her mother?

While we’ll have to wait and see how This Is Us handles Deja’s future, we surely won’t have to wait to find out what’s in store for her homecoming. Whether the episode tracks Deja’s history or tells her story in real time remains to be seen, but we will more than likely be shedding a few tears as we get to know the real Deja.
For now, This Is Us follows up a mostly fun but vitally emotional episode with another special hour that will only bring the Pearson family closer. And here’s another interesting tidbit about the episode titled “This Big, Amazing, Beautiful Life”: Jack and Rebecca make an appearance as expectant parents to the Big Three. How will Jack and Rebecca’s story in the past tie into Deja’s in the present? Who can know for sure, but we better have an excessive amount of tissues right by our side on standby.
