Anyone who has been in the military watches all military depictions with a critical eye. One of the most difficult aspects to overcome for any show is lack of discipline and the blatant insubordination. Small slips of decorum are understandable, but there have been some larger issues.
The most egregious moment was during “Desperate Times” when Jaz brazenly deviated from the Iran plan. She had one shot, and it didn’t work out. The entire team had a VERY tight timeline to leave the country after executing the mission. Instead, however, she potentially endangered the entire team, not to mention nearly executing an innocent kid.
Speaking of improvisation, how in the world did Preach (Demetrius Grosse) think it was cool to just wing it when dealing with hostage holding terrorists?
Giving the terrorists an extra hostage happens a lot in movies and television, but it’s probably not the best option. Considering how quickly support busted through the door after the blind shots through the wall, there were better options than “hold my beer, watch this.”
In other words, the team either needs to show a little more respect for authority, or some explanation needs to be given for their free-flowing nature. If Dalton is OK with it, and the team is OK with the subsequent butt-chewing, then that relationship needs be explained in some way.
