Timeless Season 2: What does THAT shocking twist mean for #Lyatt?

Wyatt and Lucy finally got together and the Timeless fandom couldn’t be happier. Then THAT shocking twist at the end left us with super mixed feelings.

Timeless Season 2 started with the idea that #Lyatt was a strong possibility. Suddenly we were all on-board for it, happy that both Wyatt and Lucy were finally finding some happiness. They deserve it after everything they’ve been through.

Just as “Hollywoodland” put them together, there’s a risk of them being torn apart. THAT shocking twist at the very end of the episode (you know what it is if you’re caught up) has left us all reeling.

What does this mean for Wyatt and Lucy?

They had just found happiness together. Lucy admitted that seeing Wyatt alive had given her hope again. She was no longer on a suicide mission on the Mothership in 1918. As the fandom cheered for #Lyatt throughout the episode, hearts dropped at the reveal of Jessica.

It’s not that we don’t like Jessica. Far from it! Wyatt tried everything possible in the first season to bring his wife back. He risked court marshal and his freedom to stop her killer and at least have her alive in the current world. Yet, everything he did failed. Our hearts broke for him as he felt he needed to give up.

While we would love to be happy for Wyatt now, we can’t help but feel for Lucy. How is this going to set her back? Will she go back on suicide missions to stop Rittenhouse? Is there hope when Wyatt will likely want to be with his wife again; give their marriage the chance they didn’t previously have?

An interesting love triangle?

What is the future for Jessica now? There’s a high chance that she’s part of a bigger scheme. After all, it’s not like they changed too much in 1940s Hollywood to bring Jessica back. Is this the ploy of Rittenhouse? A way to throw Wyatt off, so he no longer helps the others stop the sleeper agents. After all, he was the main player in the Darlington 500.

Did Rittenhouse see a problem with #Lyatt? Did they somehow learn about this relationship and see the damage it could do? Maybe they brought Jessica back to prevent that. After all, Lucy’s parents likely want her to be part of Rittenhouse still.

This is certainly likely setting up an interesting love triangle. There aren’t many shows that I can accept a love triangle in, but this has a twist. Neither party is doing anything wrong, so to speak. They are all caught between rocks and hard places, as they move forward with this new information–after all, Wyatt can’t keep this from Lucy for ever.

While we, as viewers, was #Lyatt to work out, we also spent the first season hoping Wyatt would get his wife back. Now he has her and we’re stuck in the middle, not sure who we want him to choose in the end.

Jessica’s arrival on Timeless Season 2 has changed everything.
