Days Of Our Lives’ actress, Victoria Konefal recently sat down with us to discuss her character’s current story-arc on the show, along with elaborating on the imminent drama to come.

In the soap-opera genre, Days Of Our Lives is one of the most widely recognized out of them all. It’s been on the air for years and there are no signs of the series closing out anytime soon. Though, with time passing, actors eventually move on while others take their places. The latest member of the cast to do so was Victoria Konefal. She took over for Vivian Jovanni as Ciara Brady not too long ago, kicking off an arc for Ciara that comes with a fair share of complications, for the character that is.

For anyone not keeping up with Days Of Our Lives, Ciara Brady recently returned to Salem after a brief trip to Hong Kong. Riding in on her father’s motorcycle, Ciara makes a grand entrance back in town. Mostly everyone is excited to see her and things appear to be going well, that is until the drama with Claire ruins everything.

More from NBC

Earlier in the year, Claire learned that Rafe cheated on Ciara’s mother. Using that knowledge to hurt both Hope and Ciara, Claire made a bold play. The result ignited a fury in Ciara, one that doesn’t seem to have an end in sight. For more insight into the conflict between Ciara and Claire, we asked Konefal about what’s happening with them. Here’s what she had to say on the matter:

"“The conflict isn’t going to resolve itself anytime soon, so for now they are just living in this hostile environment while maintaining some kind of courtesy. I think that Ciara really wants to forgive Claire. She genuinely misses her and their relationship, but it’s all up to Claire in Ciara’s eyes. She’s waiting for Claire to grow up and stop being so selfish. They have a long way to go, but I hope they reconcile sometime soon! Olivia and I are great friends and it would be amazing if our onscreen relationship to reflected that.”"

According to what Konefal had to say, there’s hope for Ciara and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) to find some common ground but it’s going to take some time. There’s a lot of work to be done but nothing too damaging has doomed their friendship. Konefal acknowledges that they used to be good friends and can still return to that. At the same time, Konefal hopes their on-screen friendship will one day reflect her off-screen relationship with Keegan which she says is great.

Additionally, we had to follow-up with Konefal on Ciara’s motorcycle riding. She returned to town on her father’s motorcycle and doesn’t seem worried about the dangers of riding. Ciara’s mother reminds her of what happened to David in hopes that she will take his experience as a lesson but Ciara isn’t listening. Konefal gave a more in-depth explanation as to why when we inquired about the bike:

"“There is always a risk when you’re riding a motorcycle, and Ciara fully acknowledges that. She’s willing to accept whatever potential consequences there may be and drives as safely as possible. The bike means the world to her. It was her fathers most prized possession, and when he passed she went to the bike for comfort. She’s not ready to let him go.”"

Despite knowing the dangers of riding motorcycles, Ciara isn’t giving up her bike. She has a good reason for not wanting to, which should be acknowledged. However, when Days Of Our Lives has already set a precedent for characters being killed by motorcycles, it might be a good idea to stay away. Luckily Ciara has a lot more to do on DOOL, so death by motorcycle seems unlikely.

On the more positive side of Ciara’s story, her relationship with Tripp seems to be going well. It hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, what with them being held hostage together and all, but they’ve grown closer because of it. Ciara and Tripp also shared a bike ride on Valentine’s Day that ended on a particularly romantic note. Konefal gave us this tidbit on her character’s developing relationship with Tripp:

"“They have great chemistry and truly care about each other. That’s always a beautiful thing to find, especially in Ciara’s case. She’s been through so much especially with men and I think she’s refreshed to find someone who she can trust.”"

With things going well for Tripp and Ciara, Konefal makes it sound like a long-term thing could be in the works. Both do appear to be adequate matches for another and seem to trust one another on an intimate level. Of course, there’s a chance someone will get in the way of their happiness, namely Claire.

Seeing as how Claire always gets between Ciara and her boyfriends, Tripp probably won’t be the exception. Tripp did use to have feelings for Claire, so something could be rekindled there. When we asked Konefal about Claire stepping in between Ciara and Tripp, she gave us this response:

"Claire has a pattern of doing that with most of Ciara’s boyfriends so I wouldn’t be surprised. Even if she did try, I don’t think it would work well. They have a strong friendship on top of their flirtatious dynamic, so they would most likely be unbothered by Claire. She might be a little jealous because that behavior is just in her nature, but I think the rest of the characters are going to be really happy for them! Ciara’s family is incredibly supportive and they only want what is best for her."

Claire being the only exception, Konefal seems confident that the rest of her family will approve of Ciara and Tripp’s relationship. We don’t know how each individual will react to them getting together but it doesn’t look like anyone is going to stop them. The good news is that we won’t have to wait too much longer to see how their relationship develops.

Days Of Our Lives airs Tuesdays on NBC.
