#4. Orange Is the New Black

I remember when the news for Orange Is the New Black coming out broke! Now I’m starting to feel old because it doesn’t feel like it was five years ago. Regardless, this Netflix show will celebrate it’s fifth birthday on July 11. Oh, and from this point I’ll use the common acronyms OITNB.

OITNB is based on a true story, developed from the memoir of Piper Kerman, where she detailed her time in minimum-security federal prison FCI Danbury. Piper is convincted of smuggling drugs for her girlfriend (10 years before her arrest) and is sentenced to 15 months in prison. While there, she sees her former girlfriend again, and part of the series is them re-examining their relationship while Piper learns to survive the prison system.

When Netflix renewed the series for a fifth season back in February 2016, it also picked it up for a sixth and seventh season. The sixth is due to drop sometime in the summer this year, so now is the time to start binging it if you haven’t already! Netflix drops all episodes for the season at once, so any fans will not be contactable for the weekend it drops to binge! You might as well join us.

#5. Sleepy Hollow

For those who like fantasy dramas, Sleepy Hollow is definitely for you. It debuted on September 16, 2013. However, this is the only one on this list that is no longer still on the air, with its final episode airing on March 31, 2017. The FOX series was based on the short story “The Legends of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving, with some elements of “Rip Van Winkle” thrown in.

The first three seasons were even set in a fictional version of the real Sleepy Hollow, New York, before moving to Washington D.C. for the final season. And if you’re still unsure, it is the story of Icobad Crane with a twist. Initially set in 1781, Crane is a double agent for George Washington and behead a Horseman who refuses to die. After finally killing the Horseman, he’s transported to 2013, where he learns the Horseman is back and all he has is Washington’s bible as a guide. This Headless Horseman is actually Death and nobody wants him to get his head back or allow Moloch, his master, to be released from Purgatory.

If you’re looking for a series to binge-watch and get to the end, this is the one. However, don’t expect it to end without a twist. Unfortunately, it was canceled after the Series Finale aired.
