Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer introduces Goliath to the MCU. Will we see more of him?

The newest trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp recently hit the web, sparking mass interest in the newest Marvel film. In it, new characters like Goliath are making their big-screen debut, though it’s not as marvelous as you’d think.

In the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer, Goliath gets a shoutout during a conversation between Scott Lang and Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne). They talk about their power-sets and Foster brings up that he used to grow up to 21 ft. tall, while Lang boasted his growth of 65 ft. tall. The conversation goes on for a few more seconds until Hope breaks up them comparing sizes anymore.

What this tells us about the MCU is that there are more heroes in it than we know about. Goliath has never been mentioned once yet he’s used technology similar to Henry Pym’s. This would’ve caught someone’s attention, a 20 ft. man standing out in broad daylight is something S.H.I.E.L.D. would know about. Keep in mind that several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will be featured in some capacity in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Therefore, the shadowy organization could be responsible for keeping Foster’s identity as Goliath a secret.

Nevertheless, the presence of Bill Foster in the MCU means we could see a younger version of him later on. It probably won’t happen in Ant-Man and the Wasp but perhaps Goliath will receive a true introduction in the next Avengers film. There are rumors of time travel being involved so there’s a good chance Goliath will pop up at some point.

In any case, other heroes like Goliath could appear as well. If the rumors of alternate realities and parallel timelines in Avengers 4 have some degree of truth to them then anything is possible. Of course, a new universe probably wouldn’t deviate too much from the original. Though, fans might be pleased to see a new set of heroes in the rebooted MCU.
