The Grove

Season 4, episode 14

The Walking Dead‘s “The Grove” is one of the most intense (and controversial) episodes in television history. The fourth season of the AMC series saw the slow downfall of young Lizzie’s mental health. Lizzie simply couldn’t comprehend what was happening around her and refused to accept that walkers are no longer the people she once knew. Instead, she believed they were still her friends and would often play with them. A risky game that only became worse.

To prove her point, Lizzie decided to kill her little sister, Mika, while Carol and Tyreese went on a supply run. To their horror, Carol and Tyreese return home only to find Mika’s body surrounded by blood. Knowing she is now a risk to everyone, Carol makes the tough decision to kill Lizzie. She takes the girl out to the field and tells her to look at the flowers before pulling the trigger. To this day, that scene remains fresh on our minds as one of the most memorable in the series.
