Pitch

All About The Show: The premise for Pitch was simple. It followed Ginny Baker, the first female to be drafted into the MLB. The show eventually started to divulge more into Ginny’s life, other characters and the struggles she dealt with. Despite a promising showing, Pitch failed to live up to the hype. Coupled with a horrible timeslot, the show couldn’t keep a consistent amount of viewers and Fox axed it after one season.

The perfect fit: Picking a perfect network is hard as Pitch had a lot of buzz around it but the best option is Netflix. Netflix has a huge catalog and would be willing to work with the MLB.

Netflix could definitely take more risks than Fox and would have taken the show over the edge. I think they truly could have pushed the envelope and made the show even better.

What we’ll miss most: This is tough, because Pitch was one of the first shows I covered/recapped for HR. It’ll always have a special place in my heart, because of that.

As for what I’ll miss most about the show, I’ll miss the incredible premise as it showed us something we’ve never seen before. In addition, the acting was incredible and Ginny Baker felt like a real person. The show was unlike anything that came before it and anything to happen since.

Pitch almost had a magic to it and let’s not forget about the ending. The season finale left on a huge cliffhanger and it needs to be resolved. Pitch deserved better than what Fox gave it.
