How Luann has become the MVP of The Real Housewives of New York City

In every Real Housewives series, there’s at least one person who steals the spotlight and Luann is that essential east coast RHONY housewife.

The countess Luann has been a member of the cast for most of its run, going through divorce, career opportunities, an arrest, new friendships, and of course several conflicts with fellow housewives. Luann has been one of our favorite housewives for quite sometime now but this season, even those against her are starting to spot the reality tv queen qualities necessary to solidify her role in the series. So what has aided us in this realization about the RHONY  housewife? Well let’s begin…

Her candid storytelling.
Luann was recently arrested and charged with a few different things that stemmed from getting a little too tipsy in Palm Beach where her newly divorced husband threw a distasteful party at the location they celebrated their marriage. As she tells it, she ended up drunk and wandering into a wrong room where she made out with a “friend” before ending up in handcuffs that she later slipped out of. Luann sought out treatment, showing us that she was serious about getting help but is also able to laugh at her antics which makes this scenario one of the most entertaining stories of RHONY – we’re just sorry it took her getting arrested to receive reality tv gold.

She’s not afraid of conflict.

More from Reality TV

The countess has repeatedly shown us that she’ll go toe-to-toe with other housewives including original housewives Bethenny and Ramona, but she’s also able to move on and make amends. She’s even released a song called “Girl Code” that reminds us she’ll call you out for crimes against fellow friends – so you know she’s always ready to divulge a nice dose of hones-tea. If you need any further proof she doesn’t shy from confrontation, just look at her footage from the Palm Beach Police Department.

She’s the queen of iconic moments.
From her solid shade throwing at Alex about her Herman Munster shoes to her sending a voice text to her cheating fiancé where we heard “how could you do this to me – question mark.” Luann is full of surprises. One moment she’s falling into the bushes and stumbling down steps, then the next she’s writing songs like “Money Can’t Buy You Class” which certainly proves Luann isn’t your typical countess or housewife, but she is 100% essential to our love of The Real Housewives of New York City. Luann has been on and off the show, but if we’ve learned anything it’s that they are better off including her as a full time cast member for the franchise.
