The cast of the hit reality series The Hills could be making an appearance at the upcoming 2018 VMA’s with a special announcement.

If you’re a fan of reality television, you know that there are several different series about youth, workplace conflicts, shifting friendships and so much more – but there are few that paved the way like MTV’s The Hills. Now, eight years since the series aired its final episode, a report from People suggests the core cast will arrive to the MTV Video Music Awards with a “big announcement.”

The cast has recently been candid about the potential reboot or return to The Hills, with series former polarizing co-lead Kristin Cavallari stating that a reboot has been discussed on multiple occasions. Though Cavallari had teased the return on Watch What Happens Live! months ago, she also admitted that she had signed to E! for a deal while the controversial Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag had re-signed to MTV where the series originated.

Back in April, Pratt suggested in an interview that everyone was finally on the same page with the exception of the series lead Lauren Conrad who was more hopeful for a Laguna Beach reunion than anything else. Pratt (who very publicly clashed with Conrad) seemed to be softer when discussing Conrad and again in June when telling TMZ that everything was just about settled except for Conrad who had been “holding up negotiations.” He added that maybe she could even do a small cameo and choose who to film with, showing that they just want everyone to be involved as much as possible.

In all honesty, brining Conrad back is the major draw for fans who have followed the fashion maven that shared her youth with viewers.. If it has taken this long to work out the contract details, we can only hope that we’ll see the return of The Hills with Conrad coming back in some capacity.
