Who doesn’t love old Grampa Simpson? The father of Homer has been in some pretty memorable episodes, so at Duff and Donuts, we are looking at 5 of them.

Grampa Simpson (Abraham Simpson) tells the best stories with no endings and is pretty cranky. You can’t blame him though he’s in a retirement home and doesn’t get many visitors. So I’m going to give Grampa some attention and look at five of his best episodes in no particular order:

1. Grandpa Vs. Sexually Inadquency ( Season 6, Episode 10)

In Grandpa Vs. Sexually InadquencyGrandpa Simpson has a homemade tonic that helps Homer’s love life. Homer and Abe then go into business together called Simpson and Son’s Revitalizing Tonic. It doesn’t last long though because Abe tells Homer that he wishes Homer was never born.

2. Raging Abe Simpson and his Grumbling Grandson in “The Curse of the Flying Hellfish”  (Season 7, Episode 22)

Mr. Burns and Abe are the only two members left of the Flying Hellfish (Grampa’s World War II squad), and Burns wants to kill him in order to get the paintings. Bart and Grampa team up to stop Burns from getting the priceless art.

3. Lady Bouvier’s Lover (Season 5, Episode 21)

In Lady Bouvier’s Love Grampa falls in love with Marge’s mom, Jacqueline Bouvier. Mr. Burns though cuts in and it’s up to Abe to get her back before her and Burns get married.

4. The Old Man and the Key (Season 13, Episode 13)

Grampa is back in love, this time with new resident Zelda. He finds out that in order to get her to love him and impress her, Abe has to get his license back. He ends up getting it, but things escalate quickly. Olympia Dukakis does the voice of Zelda.

Four freaky Simpsons episodes that aren’t Treehouse of Horror. dark. Next

5. Old Money (Season 2, Episode 17)

Old Money, in my opinion, is one of the sadder episodes of The Simpsons. In this episode, Grampa meets Beatrice Simmons (the voice was done by Audrey Meadows) and they fall in love. The sad thing is she dies before he can say goodbye but she leaves him money. Abe then is trying to decide what to do with the money, so Old Money does tug at the heartstrings.

So those are some of the best Grampa Simpson episodes in my opinion anyway. Some honorable mentions include The Front, Rome-Old and Juli-Eh, and The War of the Simpsons.
