About the Season

From Twentieth Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, comes The Gifted‘s debut season featuring an incredible ensemble cast led by Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford and Coby Bell.

“The complete first season of The Gifted tells the emotional story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers,” Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment teases of its latest release. “Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”

Why it’s Worth Buying

Given the strength of its season, there’s no denying that purchasing The Gifted: The Complete First Season should be a must for fans. The only major downfall of the collection is its glaring lack of any bonus material as the collection fails to provide fans with any bonus featurettes or deleted scenes.

It is a bit unusual for a release not to contain at least some form of bonus feature even if just a few deleted scenes or a gag reel; however, fans should be willing to overlook the omission of bonus features due to the strength of the season itself.

While many superhero dramas struggle to gain traction in their first season, The Gifted wasted no time in establishing itself as a strong force in the genre through compelling storytelling and its strong character work.

Thanks to the strong writing and performances of the cast, the show’s limited run helped the writers to deliver a more impactful and concise story which left us wanting more! Although we may not be treated to any bonus content, the strength of the season alone makes this collection one any X-Men and superhero fan should be pleased to add to their collection!
