Manifest is NBC’s highly anticipated freshman drama. Already making waves, it’s set out to mystify us all. These are the seven major questions from the series premiere the show better answer!

Manifest is going to be one of those shows you either love or hate. If you adored early LOST, the series is going to be one you want to tune into. I just hope it doesn’t fall into the trap that LOST did and leave the major questions completely open until the show dwindled into nothing.

The series premiere of Manifest aired last Monday. I’ve watched it over and over again, trying to pick out the biggest questions ahead of the second episode that airs tomorrow. These are questions that need to be answered in the first season.

Even if the show does get picked up (and it likely will considering the success of the pilot) for a second season, the answers can’t wait. Otherwise, there’s the risk of fans tuning out believing they’ll never get the answers they need.

Here are the seven major questions I’ve picked out that I feel need to be answered.

7. How did they time travel?

More from NBC

The biggest question of all is the most obvious one. Yes, it’s all to do with that turbulence. What exactly happened up in the air on that fateful night?

Also, where did the plane go? When it disappeared from 2013, where did it go before reappearing in 2018? Did it go anywhere? Was the turbulence a little like the stones in Outlander–the plane just traveled through time?

This is going to be one of the big questions for the season. I just hope it’s answered by the end, so we can move past this mystery and figure out the next one.

This then connects to the next question.
