Jodie Whittaker officially attracted more viewers than any other Doctor, so can we stop calling for her replacement in Doctor Who?

Ever since Jodie Whittaker was announced as the thirteenth Doctor, there have been calls for her to be replaced. The new season of Doctor Who is now underway! Yet, despite the amazing start the series has got off to, calls have been made for her replacement. They need to stop though, it’s not happening. Ever.

Just going off sheer viewing figures alone, the BBC has reported that Jodie Whittaker attracted the biggest audience for an episode of Doctor Who to feature a new version of the Doctor. Gathering over 10.9 million viewers, “The Woman Who Fell To Earth,” had the highest viewing figures ever since the series was relaunched way back in 2005.

If that wasn’t enough, the fact that Jodi Whittaker’s performance as the Doctor has been completely solid so far, our new companions not only bring something new to the table but also compliment each other as well.

The writing itself is reflecting back to the original seasons of Doctor Who, while simultaneously paying respect to the Moffat era which is amazing. The show has quite simply not put a foot wrong so far.

So can we please stop calling for the replacement of Jodi Whittaker? You might not like her version of the Doctor, you might not enjoy the new stories or the new monsters, and that’s fine. Nobody is going to love every single part of Doctor Who. No matter who is running the show, or who the Doctor is being portrayed by, you won’t like everything. And you should voice that opinion, about why you didn’t like a particular episode, voice your opinion on what you think went wrong. If the episode was too slow-paced, tell them, if the acting a bit too over the top, share it, if there was a glaring inaccuracy made, shout it from the rooftops that made a huge mistake, but stop calling for a replacement of our new Doctor. She’s is doing great!
