Supernatural Season 14, Episode 3 images show The Scar

Supernatural Season 14, Episode 3 is titled The Scar. Images from the episode show exactly why it’s been given that name.

The images for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 3 are out and they immediately show us why the episode is titled “The Scar.” It would have been easy to assume that there was just a mental scar after everything that’s happened, but sure enough, there’s a physical one.

Of course, a spoiler warning here. The images show us who’s back and it’s going to be impossible not to mention things from the last episode.

So, here it goes. We’re heading into a breakdown of the 12 images released for Thursday’s episode. Are you ready?

Most of them don’t really give much away, like the one above. Stock images of the various characters looking shocked, concerned, sad, and melancholy are completely normal and it’s hard to take anything away from them.

This is good from a writing point of view when people cry about spoilers (I can’t help the images The CW releases) but it’s not great for those of us who want to break down the images. What we can tell is that the gang looks back together. Dean is back in the fold and Castiel and Jack will play a part in this episode.

We also see that Jody is definitely back, not that we needed the images to know that. Both the synopsis and promo told us that one of my favorite Wayward Sisters has returned for the episode. Plus, filming spoilers from the summer told us that the sheriff was going to be back.

There’s a super sweet image of Sam and Jody together. She looks just like a mom to him and it’s adorable. There are a couple of others of Sam and Dean in the woods with her, suggesting Jody’s case is, in fact, linked to the Winchesters (well, Dean, maybe).

Out of all the images, there’s one that connects to the Supernatural Season 14, Episode 3 title, “The Scar.” There’s a physical scar on Dean’s arm. The last time we saw a scar on his arm similar to this was the handprint that Castiel left when pulling Dean out of Hell in the Supernatural Season 4 premiere. I’m curious about this one since Dean’s storyline involves another angel–this time an archangel.

Dean doesn’t remember what Michael did while in control. Whether it’s because he was put to sleep or just because it takes time is unknown right now, but Dean wants Castiel to pull the memories from him. They must link to this scar in some way.

It looks like a branding more than a cut. If it is a cut, it’s an extremely deep one and it’s interesting that it didn’t heal completely without a scar, suggesting that it’s to do with Michael leaving his sword–that is if he did.
