#9 You Don’t Mess with the Zohan

Original Release Date: The comedy premiered in theaters on June 6, 2008.

Box Office Earnings: With $199.9 million worldwide (from a predicted budget of $90 million), You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is a box office hit! Keep it mind, the numbers are even better when you consider that this was 10 years ago, ticket sales were a lot less back then.

Critical Acclaim: Another 38% from Rotten Tomatoes, but fans knew to appreciate the movie. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan still has a large fanbase and is considered by many a comedy classic.

About the Role: Adam Sandler stars as Zohanelen “Zohand” Dvir/Scrappy Coco, yeah, it’s a mouthful. Zohan fakes his death to become a hairstylist in New York City. That may not sound too terrible, until you learn his previous job was a counter-terrorist army commando.

Simply the Best: This movie does not take itself seriously at all, so why should you? We’re not sure what fans were expecting, but You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is simply a good time full of laughs. Sometimes it’s fun to sit back and enjoy a movie without thinking about it too much. Sandler’s best friends, Nick Swardson, Rob Schneider, and Dave Matthews also star in the movie. Many years later, this movie still holds up.
