In memory of Stan Lee, we wanted to look at one of his more memorable characters: the man himself. Here’s a top 10 list of his best cameos, including some you may have missed.

In light of the passing of Marvel Comics creator and legend Stan Lee, we decided to compile a list of the top 10 Stan Lee cameos. This will cover all forms of media, from television, to film, to animation.

Stan Lee has been making cameo appearances in Marvel-related works since 1989. His first cameo actually took place in the TV movie The Trial of The Incredible Hulk. He appeared as a juror and had no lines but it was the first time he was seen on-screen in a Marvel property.

Prior to this, he narrated several episodes of the early 1980’s cartoon series’ The Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. There was no way to know at that time that his appearances would become a staple, but they have become one of the things Marvel enthusiasts look for when taking in a Marvel property.

Before we get into the top 10, here are a few honorable mentions.

More from Marvel Movies

Big Hero 6

As mentioned, Stan made several appearances on television and movies in an animated form but the Big Hero 6 appearance had some of the best animation. He never looked more like himself than he did in that scene during the film, and he made several more appearances on the television show as well.

The Defenders promo

Though not technically a cameo, having Stan Lee narrate this ad for the Marvel-Netflix crossover event The Defenders was a masterful move. Though the final product wasn’t much to write home about, promotions like this one definitely built the hype leading up to the mini-series’ release.
