Big Brother live feeds: What is it and how does it work?
By Ryan Gamble
Big Brother live feeds have been a great way for fans to keep up with houseguests on the reality competition show. It should return for Celebrity Big Brother 2 during the winter 2019 season.
CBS presented something new when its hit reality show starting doing well. Called the Big Brother live feeds, it is a way for viewers to see what the houseguests are dealing with during their time in the house. The feeds are provided by in-house cameras, which are kept turned on for most of the time that the houseguests play the game. It allows unique behind-the-scenes glimpses.
When do the Big Brother live feeds get turned on?
Once the new casts have entered the house, a few days are spent where producers explain the rules and the houseguests get acquainted. This is also a time where a lot of footage is recorded for upcoming episodes of the show. When the season premiere has aired on CBS, the live feeds get turned on.
Located on the CBS All Access website, the Big Brother live feeds provide four camera views of inside the house. This is where fans can watch what is taking place when the episodes aren’t on CBS. This includes conversations about who to target for eviction, glimpses of how alliances are being formed, and even what the houseguests are cooking up for dinner.

Not everyone knows about the Big Brother live feeds
Even people who have been on the show don’t necessarily know about the CBS live feeds until they have entered the house. Recently, Big Brother 18 houseguest Natalie Negrotti posted on Twitter, admitting that she “had no idea” about the live feed cameras until she was playing the game. For subscribers of the live feeds, it can often be very addictive.
There are times when producers also allow live feeds viewers to watch competitions take place. Sometimes, if a Head of Household Competition involves endurance, live feed subscribers get to watch it all take place online. This is one of the great benefits to the coverage. It’s also a way to keep up with what is really going on in the house and not just what gets shown during the CBS episodes.
A slight frustration that some live feed subscribers have had with the application is that they are advertised as being on for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That’s not really true, as they get turned off for production messages, for taping nomination and eviction ceremonies, and for special events within the game. Still, the Big Brother live feeds are a great way to really get involved in the game.
