The Big Brother 13 season sought to try a new theme of using duos. In order to do so, six former houseguests were brought back, possibly creating the best season in the history of the reality competition.

For the Big Brother 13 cast, producers brought in eight new houseguests and six former ones who had memorable experiences on the show. The former houseguests were called Dynamic Duos are consisted of Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas, Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder, and the father-daughter duo of Dick Donato and Daniele Donato. The season was certainly overshadowed by the returners, but there was some great gameplay as well.

Winners return to compete in Big Brother 13

Before coming on the 2011 summer season, Dick Donato won Big Brother 18 and Jordan Lloyd won Big Brother 11. This would end up working against them, to a degree, as new houseguests didn’t want them to win again. Still, Jordan was very good at the game and made the right alliances in this season as well.

Dick Donato quits the show

On Day 6, Evel Dick found out from producers that there was a possibility he was HIV-positive. He decided to leave the show, calling it a “personal matter” he had to deal with. It left Daniele in a difficult position, as she no longer had a teammate in the game. It would also start creating a fracture in the Veterans alliance.

For the first few weeks, the duo theme continued, but it would end before too long. When Porsche Briggs became a Head of Household later in the season, she was tempted with Pandora’s Box. She got $10,000 for opening it, but it meant a twist would enter the game. That twist was that duos would come back, enabling Rachel and Jordan to team up. Rachel would win the Power of Veto during a week the final two veterans were targets, saving herself and Jordan.

The big game moves by Adam Poch and Porsche Briggs

On a Double Eviction day, Adam nominated Porsche and Jordan for eviction. After Porsche won the Power of Veto, Adam used Rachel as the replacement nominee. With Rachel and Jordan on the block, it was Jordan who got sent to be a member of the BB13 jury. That left Rachel as the final veteran, but she would then win the final HOH and take Porsche to the end with her.

The Big Brother 13 season was memorable for a number of reasons, but primarily because of how well Rachel Reilly played the game. Rachel won the HOH four times and the Power of Veto two times. She also survived being nominated five times. Both Rachel and Porsche Briggs were extremely good at playing the game and the twists and turns of the season made it one of the best the show has seen.
