It’s no spoiler to say there are many versions of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie, but there’s one Spidey you weren’t expecting!

The long-awaited animated Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse opens wide this Friday, December 14. However, the movie is already playing in select theaters. Into the Spider-Verse is screening in limited theaters across the globe, as well as had its big premiere, and screened for press. Are you one of the lucky few who caught the movie already? If so read on.

Please note: There are light spoilers ahead for the post-credit scenes. If you haven’t seen the movie and don’t wish to know anything about it, leave now.

From the trailer, fans knew they would meet Miles Morales/Spider-Man (Shameik Moore), Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man (Jake Johnson), Peter Porker/Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), Peter Parker/Spiker-Man (Chris Pine), and Spider-Noir (Nicolas Cage).

What we didn’t see coming, though, were two new Spider-Man versions (one of which we definitely didn’t see coming at all). If you stayed seated until after the credits rolled, you were treated to a very special post-credit scene.

Audiences are introduced to Miguel O’Hara, a futuristic Spider-Man known by fans as Spider-Man 2099. This hero takes on the Spider-Man mantle in the distant future.

In the clip, Miguel is on a mission to gather all the Spider-heroes. For what? We’re not sure yet. Perhaps we’ll find out more in a sequel!

Next. The problem with NASA's Tony Stark rescue mission. dark

As cool as meeting Miguel is, though, he’s not the Spider-Man we’re talking about. Miguel’s first stop is where it all began — 1967. Using a device, Miguel travels to 1967 to the 1967 Spider-Man classic TV series. There we see Spider-Man 1967. Yes, the one from the memes! It’s a hilarious scene that either sets up the sequel or was thrown in just for fun. Either way, we love it!
