Marvel just dropped the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame and it has left everyone with questions, especially when it comes to Ant-Man/Scott Lang. A new fan theory hopes to answer those questions.

Marvel dropped the trailer for Avengers: Endgame last week and it left Marvel fans excited but also caused them to scratch their heads, especially when it came to the clip where Ant-Man/Scott Lang was knocking on the door to the Avengers’ headquarters. It appears that Scott showed up outside the headquarters, clear after the moment Thanos snapped his finger and wiped away half the population of the universe.

Scott was presumed missing by the Avengers, so it was a shock for Captain America and Black Widow. However, Scott’s return excited fans as it hints that time travel and the Quantum Realm might play into each other in next year’s blockbuster conclusion.

However, a user on Reddit believes that Scott’s appearance is more about what happened during the time Thanos snapped his finger. Reddit user “Joethehamface” believes that none of them actually turned to dust and are simply in another reality. This is a theory I actually considered when I walked out of Avengers: Infinity War.

One needs to remember when Thanos said: “death was unnecessary when one has the power to change things with the infinite powers of the Infinity Gauntlet.” This theory suggests that Thanos just split reality into two parts, with each side seeing their loved ones turn to dust. Such as Captain America witnessing Bucky turn to dust, the reverse happened as well.

If this theory is true, then there’s a whole other dimension where people are trying to undo what Thanos has done. According to this theory, Scott was unaffected by the snap, because the Quantum Realm is its own dimension. The key could be to find a way to bridge the two realities together through the Quantum Realm.
