Black Widow fan theory suggests time jump in Avengers: Endgame

A Marvel fan took to Reddit suggesting that the Avengers take part in a time jump based on Black Widow’s hair. Black Widow’s hair has gone from red curls in Iron Man 2  to blonde in Avengers: Infinity War.

Theories abound when it comes to Avengers: Endgame. Fans have jumped on to Twitter to share the theories they believe to be a possibility based on the trailer that Marvel dropped last week.

In the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) appears to keep her blonde hair. However, Reddit user Marvel20Geek broke down Black Widow’s hair in the trailer, as well as concept art that Marvel has shared, which leads them to believe the Avengers will somehow take a time jump.

More from Marvel Movies

At the beginning of the trailer, we see Black Widow rocking the same blonde hairdo as she did in Infinity War. This is strange for her as she always has a new style for each new movie she’s in. However, the further you watch the trailer, you notice that her hair does change over time.

Marvel20Geek points out in their post that when Black Widow meets up with Hawkeye in the middle of a country that appears to be Japan, her hair is braided and long. The user then points to concept art that Marvel released, which shows Black Widow with dark long hair.

With all this evidence based on Black Widow’s hair, it could be true that the surviving Avengers could be involved in a time jump. Marvel fans believe that the movie will take place years after Infinity War, but that doesn’t eliminate the possibility of seeing the aftermath before jumping ahead in time.

Other commenters have shot down this theory, with one saying Marvel “could have edited/shot some scenes for the trailer with Natasha having different color hair to throw off the fans.”  Reddit user XOpeIX also said that fans are spending too much time on her hair and that the mysteries of the film will not be solved by hairstyles. One Reddit user FundoBundo defended this theory saying Marvel20Geek was spot on with this theory.
