There are TV shows that were destined to be a hit. Then there are the television shows such as The Office and Friends that became hits but were never supposed to be. Let’s talk about them.

We know those TV shows that were primed to be a star vehicle for a network.

They get insatiable advertisement from every single angle, hoping that you will tune in to watch their newly crafted smash hit become that very entity. They get all of the buzz from critics, all of the press junkets, and all of the glory from a network, even before those TV shows air a single episode.

So, when the show, eventually, becomes a hit, it was almost like it was predicted to become the hit it was always destined to be.

Then, there are the TV shows such The Office, Friends and Bones that were not destined to be a hit for a network.

Those are the TV shows that get minimal advertisement, usually about three months before its debut, and are treated by the network like filler. While some of those shows have deserved that, there were others that were meant to be filler, but went on to have a long-lasting, influential run on the small tube.
