10. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

During 2018, we were worried about the fate of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. With the move to Fridays, it was clear that The CW wanted to keep it but didn’t have much faith in the viewing figures. The news that the show was always viewed as a four-season series by the creators gave us a little faith though.

One thing The CW is getting good at is giving us closure on long-running shows. The Vampire Diaries seemed to set the trend, giving us one final year to see stories wrapped. And then The Originals followed suit. 2018 saw three CW shows given final seasons and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was one of them.

The great news was that we got a longer final season compared to previous ones. This gave the writers more time to craft stories that would really get to say goodbye.

So, why are we sad to say goodbye? Well, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has been one of those shows that highlights mental illness in a good way. We’ve had the chance to go on this amazing journey and while there are comedic moments, it’s been a fair and beautiful representation. It’s going to be sad to see it all come to an end, because I’m not sure if we’ll ever get another show quite like it.

But all good things do need to come to an end. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will wrap in 2019.
