9. Orange Is the New Black

From The CW to Netflix, Orange Is the New Black got the confirmation that the next season would be the last. In some way, this is good closure. There have been times we’ve wondered if it’s time to bring the women’s prison drama to an end. But at the same time, this has been one of the greatest female-driven shows ever to air.

We always knew this show was finite. Based on the Piper Kerman’s memories “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison,” it was centered around Piper. There was a year of stories to tell and eventually, that would have to come to an end.

Sure, the show could have possibly focused on some of the other characters that have made Orange Is the New Black unique and special, but then it wouldn’t have quite been the Netflix Original it started as. Not many shows cope with a major change to the cast — you’ve just got to ask The Vampire Diaries about that.

So, while it will be sad to say goodbye to the series, it’s also going to be beautiful. We know that the show will wrap up the storylines. We’ll get a conclusion that we deserve, something that many other shows don’t get.

Orange Is the New Black Season 7 doesn’t have an official release date, but a tweet confirmed it would be in 2019. It’s certainly the biggest of the Netflix TV shows we’ll miss.
