Game of Thrones has a brand new preview for Season 8, and while brief, there are a couple major takeaways worth discussing.

HBO unveiled a brief preview of season eight on Sunday, and it whets the appetite very much. The final season has fewer episodes – only six episodes – than Game of Thrones fans are used to, so maybe the brief snippet is appropriate. Maybe the amount that can be gleaned is much greater than in previous seasons?

If the rumors of Game of Thrones episodes that have a feature-length film feel are true, then fans are in for quite the amazing final season. Maybe everything will come full circle to the beginning, with a simple understanding of who the King is, who the royal family is, and who the subjects with their specific lands are?

One thing is for sure, there is a reception that very closely resembles the one at the beginning of the Game of Thrones series when Robert Baratheon was welcomed at Winterfell by his good friend Ned Stark.

The video below shows the first look from HBO. There are five definite takeaways from the very limited footage.
