Horse With No Name

Hey, kids of the 90’s, are you ready for me to blow your damn minds? Okay, here we go. Horse is played by Brendon Sexton III, also known as the record pilfering punk Warren – aka: “my name’s not f*cking Warren!” – from Empire Records, and the rape-obssessed delinquent Brandon from Welcome to the Dollhouse.

Sexton has featured in many projects since the 90’s, including 2018 awards-season darling Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and he’s proven to be a chameleon of his craft. In Russian Doll, his performance, along with a scraggly beard and a thin layer of grime makes him nearly unrecognizable.

Recognizable celebrity aside, what you might not have remembered is that Nadia notices Horse early on in the very first episode, even before her first death. He’s strangely familiar to her, and she thinks that they may know one another. This interaction suggests that this might not be her first loop, and that perhaps, like Alan, she doesn’t remember her first death because it involved suicide. Perhaps? Perhaps not.
