NBC has made a decision for all three One Chicago shows. Will you get another season of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD?

It’s that time of year when we look at the cancellations and renewals. Many shows will be heading for the chopping block and we always hope it’s not going to be our favorites. The three One Chicago shows got their notice today. Is One Chicago canceled or renewed?

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD have all been renewed by NBC. I’ll admit that it’s not surprising news, as all three have routinely performed well on Wednesday nights.

More from NBC

They’re all in the top eight of NBC dramas in terms of demo and top four in terms of total audience, according to TV Series Finale. Take out freshman series The Enemy Within, which has only had one episode so far, Chicago PD moves into seventh place in the demo, behind its sister shows, This Is Us and freshman shows Manifest and New Amsterdam.

Canceling them would have been a bad idea. Not only are they strong overall in the network but they are routinely the most-watched shows on a Wednesday night. Opting for One Chicago Wednesdays was arguably the best decision the network did (something fans asked for) and it wouldn’t be surprising if the network kept with this lineup for the 2019-2020 schedule.

Chicago Fire will be renewed for Season 8, Chicago PD will be renewed for Season 7, and Chicago Med will be renewed for Season 5. So far, details of the cast are not available. We’ll have to wait to see how each of the shows end during their May finales.
