But let’s focus on this episode first. “Fault in Him” sees Casey struggle with the effects of a near miss on a call. This is something that Herrmann just recently faced after seeing a college-aged kid crash his car and almost die. This time, though, it’s Casey who is put in direct danger. Of course, he’ll likely make it through but it’s going to play on his mind.

Firehouse 51 is back on the line when Fire Commissioner Grissom shows up. Yes, yet again, and it looks like we’ve got an episode that links back to the Chicago Fire/PD crossover last week. We learned that he had a connection to Alderman Ray Price (guest star Wendell Pierce) and now it looks like since the fire department remained as part of the blame for the robberies during the crossover.
Brett and Otis also take up some of the episode for different reasons. Brett’s focus is on some personal problems in her life, while Otis wins a fundraiser raffle.
