Let’s break down that amazingly exciting Captain Marvel credit scene (the goofy one, too).

Please note: Major spoilers follow as we break down and discuss the credit scenes at the end of Captain Marvel. Don’t read ahead unless you’ve already seen the movie!

It’s safe to say the post-credit scenes attached to Captain Marvel are the most anticipated scenes ever! Not only will Carol Danvers be joining the rest of the Avengers to reverse Thanos’ snap, but this is the first time she’s meeting the heroes. There’s also the fact that we’re not sure how, exactly, Captain Marvel ties in to all of this or how she’ll come face to face with Captain American and the others.

Well, the first post-credit scene has answered all of those questions and more! Once again, spoiler warning! Below is a photo of Goose to protect your eyes from any spoilers below while you make up your mind about reading ahead or not.

In the first scene, we see Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff tearfully staring at a screen that’s counting all the disappearances since Thanos snapped his fingers. The death toll continues to rise, Rogers and Romanoff are understandably in shock about everything that has taken place.

Rhodes and Banner appear to let Rogers and Romanoff know that Nick Fury’s pager has stopped glowing. They’ve got the pager hooked up and behind glass as they don’t understand what it does or who it was attempting to call.

One of them votes on destroying it, but Romanoff knows Fury meant to contact someone with it. Just as Romanoff tells them she needs to know who’s at the other end of the pager’s signal, she turns around and comes face to face with Captain Marvel. She appears out of nowhere and we love the surprise! “Where’s Fury?” Carol Danvers demands before the screens fades to black.

The second scene is only for laughs and not important at all. If you’re in a rush to leave or need a bathroom break after the 2-hour long movie, you won’t be missing out on anything. All we see in the second credits scene is Goose coughing up a hairball, or in this case, the tesseract he swallows earlier in the movie.

Next. Captain Marvel: Being marvelous is the only ‘agenda’. dark

Fans are beyond excited! Seeing Carol Danvers appear right in front of Black Widow is something else! However, we’re also sad the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it is about to come to an end.

Captain Marvel is in theaters Friday, March 8, with early showings beginning March 7.
