Aidy Bryant is the star of Hulu’s sweet and uplifting comedy, Shrill. Does this mean the actress will be leaving NBC’s Saturday Night Live?

Actress Aidy Bryant is hands down one of the reasons we love watching SNL every Saturday night. She joined the show back in 2012 and quickly became a fan favorite, so seeing Bryant leave the NBC sketch series would be heartbreaking. Saturday Night Live simply wouldn’t be the same without Aidy Bryant. Is she leaving the show?

First of all, if you’re wondering why she would even consider stepping away from SNL, that’s because Aidy Bryant stars as the lead in Hulu’s Shrill, premiering March 15. We’ve screened the show and highly recommend it! The comedy is both touching and relatable, it follows Bryant as Annie, a fat woman who decides to make some changes in her life. No, not cutting her weight down, but to recognizing her worth and standing up for herself.

More from NBC

Not only is Bryant the main star, but she’s also heavily involved in the making of Shrill. With such a busy schedule, will Bryant leave SNL to work on a second season of Shrill or other projects? At the moment, the answer is no, but Bryant herself isn’t sure what the future holds beyond another season.

From Cinemablend, here’s what Bryant says about SNL

"“I think I’ll definitely go back next season. I’m going to take it as it comes. Especially being at SNL, I’ve really learned to not plan ahead, but being in the moment. But I know I would be incredibly sad if this was my last season and I’m not ready to go. I love it there, and I’m not on my way out.”"

Great to hear Bryant doesn’t have any plans to leave Saturday Night Live! We’re happy she loves it there, because we love to see her each week. But while another season of SNL is almost guaranteed, who knows what will happen after that.

In the meantime, don’t miss Aidy Bryant on SNL on Saturday, March 3.
