The Village premieres on NBC tonight. Not sure if it’s going to be worth a watch? Here are five reasons it’s worth checking out.

New Amsterdam is taking a three-week break to give The Village a chance of success. While you will likely miss Max and his awesome team of doctors, you’ll certainly want to check out the latest NBC series.

More from NBC

The Village is titled because of the name of the apartment complex and Army vet, Nick Porter, moves into. He’s quickly welcomed into the lives of the residents but it’s certainly not all about him. Along the way, you’ll meet Sarah and Katie, Ava and Sammy, Ron and Patricia, Gabe, Lorenzo, and so many more wonderful characters.

Not sure if this is going to be something to watch. Here are five reasons it’s most definitely worth a watch.

5. It’s perfect for This Is Us, God Friended Me, and more fans

If you love the likes of This Is Us and God Friended Me, you will certainly want to check out The Village. This is a series about the lives of the individuals in the apartment complex. With teenage pregnancies, threats of deportation, medical issues, and grief, each character has his or her own share of problems and storylines.

There are going to be heartbreaking storylines, ones that leave you grateful for various people in the world, and those storylines that leave you loving life even more. The people in The Village complex are more like a family, and Nick is very quickly welcomed in.

This show reminds me a lot of This Is UsGod Friended Me, and shows like that. There’s a feel-good element behind the drama.
