CBS renews God Friended Me for second season
God Friended Me has been renewed for a second season by CBS. The news is unsurprising considering the ratings, but definitely welcome.
CBS has officially renewed God Friended Me for a second season. The God Account will be back for another year. While it’s unsurprising news considering how great the ratings have been, it’s most definitely welcome.
Earlier this month, the network announced that three freshman shows had been renewed for another season. That list didn’t include God Friended Me and there were some questions. When looking at the ratings, it should have been a definite renewal, so fans were curious about the future.

CBS has made the announcement in a press release, stating that the show has improved Sunday night programming considerably. Not only has it become CBS’ second most-watched new series, but it’s also the most-watched scripted show on Sunday nights, with an average of 10 million viewers.
The series has certainly gained a loyal following with its social media premises. When atheists Miles Finer is friended by God on Facebook, Miles is sent on missions to help the friend suggestions sent. At first, the friend suggestions seem random but then they turn out to be connected to each other and eventually, connected to Miles.
Of course, much of the first season has been focused on who is behind the God Account. However, the show has more than that going for it. This is about the relationships that have formed because of the God Account. Not only has Miles met new people, but he’s repaired his relationship with his father and learned more about forgiveness and compassion.
Now we’ll get to see more of this series for another year. It’s certainly good news while we wait for the show to return next month. The renewal scorecard has been updated with the news.
While there hasn’t been a schedule released, we will likely see Season 2 premiere in the fall. After all, the ratings have proved successful.
