The Village recap: 5 major storylines to focus on from the series premiere

It didn’t take long for the reveal that Katie is pregnant. However, Sarah didn’t act the way you would initially think. Sure, at first she was shocked and in a panic, but instead, she chose to focus on the bond she clearly has with her daughter. After all, it was quickly revealed that Sarah was a teen mom too.

However, there are some secrets and some issues. Katie doesn’t like war. She’s all about love and peace, which are commendable interests and views but could certainly cause issues for her potential relationship with Nick, who happens to be her secret biological father.

Sarah wants to show that she’s fulfilled in her life and her job, but Katie believes she could have been something more had it not been for having a child. That’s led to Katie considering abortion but it looks like she’s decided against that now.

Plus, Sarah isn’t unfulfilled and she decides to show that by inviting a stranger to the Village’s welcoming party. There’s clearly something to come from this.

Ava’s threat with deportation, Ben protecting Sammy

One of the big stories of The Village‘s series premiere was the arrival of ICE to take Ava, one of the residents. Her son, Sammy, was left with Ben, the police officer who offers to protect him while Ava sorts out her legal issues.

Ava has a deep backstory of immigration, domestic abuse, and illegal paperwork. However, she didn’t realize the paperwork was illegal. She didn’t speak the language when she arrived as a refugee and now she’s found out her husband faked the paperwork to get them into the country.

Gabe, a law student, tries to offer some help but there’s not much he can do. However, Ava helps him realize there might be, inspiring him to search for options. This is something that will come up next week. But speaking of Gabe.
