4. We got an exclusive sneak peek of the new Dora the Explorer film.

Since the announcement of a live-action Dora the Explorer film, many people have been wondering how, exactly, the animated children’s show was going to translate to the big screen. If you’re not familiar with Dora, it’s a cartoon featuring a young girl (Dora) who goes on adventures with her monkey, Boots. The Nickelodeon cartoon was known for its interactive qualities, with every episode encouraging its audience to talk and learn along with Dora and her other animated friends.

The live-action film, which stars Isabela Moner as Dora, Benicio Del Toro as Swiper, and Eva Longoria and Michael Pena as Dora’s parents, looks to depart from the source material. While the film is still clearly geared towards a younger audience, it will be far more action-packed as Dora has been aged up to high school age.

I’m still not quite sure what to make of the trailer but it seems like the studio is going for something similar to a PG Tomb Raider mixed with last year’s popular Jumanji reboot.

The story will follow Dora and her friends on an adventure to save her parents and discover the mystery behind the enigmatic Lost City of Gold. You can check out the official first trailer here for yourself:
