Season 2

Season 2 begins with Bran dreaming that he’s in the body of his direwolf, Summer. He makes Osha take him to the lake to make sure his reflection is his own, and the red comet flies overhead. Osha tells him this is a sign that the dragons are back.

He dreams he’s in Summer again, and when he wakes up, he sees himself wake up through Summer’s eyes. He talks to Maester Luwin about it, and he reassures Bran that that old magic is gone.

He dreams about the Three-Eyed Raven again, and asks Osha about it. When she questions him further, he tells her that he’s dreamt that the sea has come in and flooded Winterfell. Soon after, Ser Rodrik Cassel brings news that Torrhen’s Square has been besieged.

Theon Greyjoy comes in and wakes him up, telling him that he’s seized Winterfell and Bran should yield, which is what he does, reluctantly. It soon becomes obvious that Theon is not going to allow the Starks to live, so Osha, Bran, Rickon and Hodor escape with their direwolves.

They run to a farm, but then double back, in time to watch Theon present two burned corpses of children as the bodies of Bran and Rickon. They hide in the crypts as Winterfell is besieged by an army of Northmen. When the Ironborn flee, the emerge to see Winterfell destroyed. They decide to go find Jon Snow at Castle Black.

Season 3

Season 3 begins with Bran on the road to Castle Black with Rickon, Osha and Hodor. Bran is still dreaming about the Three-Eyed Raven, and now also a strange boy. When he goes to shoot the Raven in his dream, the boy told him he can’t shoot it, because he is the Raven.

On the road, he meets Jojen and Meera Reed. Jojen possesses the sight, and can speak to Bran through their dreams. Jojen tells him that he’s a Warg, who is someone who can control the minds of animals.

On their way to the wall, Osha is still distrustful of the Reeds, and she become infurriated when she finds out that they all plan to travel beyond the wall, telling them that they don’t understand what is out there. Jojen argues that the raven is out there, waiting for Bran.

During a storm, fearing they will get caught by wildlings, Bran accidentally wargs into a scared Hodor in order to keep him quiet. He then wargs into the direwolves and mauls some of the wildlings, discovering that Jon Snow was with them, and not at the wall.

Deciding they must go beyond the wall, Bran send Rickon and Osha to Greatjon Umber to keep him safe. When they at last make it to the wall, they encounter Samwell Tarley who recognizes who Bran is and offers to take him to his brother. He declines, and Sam instead shows them how to leave beyond the wall.

Season 4

The group is north of the Wall! And Bran is spending more and more time inside of Summer. Jojen warns him that if he spends too much time inside Summer, he’ll be trapped in there forever. They discover a Heart Tree, and Bran wargs into it, and sees the Night King turning Craster’s baby, and a dragon flying over King’s Landing. When he returns, he tells everyone he knows where they need to go.

They take a rest near Craster’s Keep, and Bran investigates the sound of a baby crying. When he uses Summer to investigate, he finds Ghost, and then Summer is caught in a trap. They go to rescue the wolves and then get taken prisoner.

While they are being held prisoner, Jon Snow and members of the Night’s Watch ride in and attack the keep. Bran wargs into Hodor, allowing him to break free and kill Locke, who is trying to bring in Bran and Rickon and kill them. Bran sees Jon, and tries to get to him, but is interrupted by Jojen who tells him it’s no good. They leave.

Eventually they reach the giant weirwood tree on the hill, but are attacked by wights, who end up killing Jojen. They are helped by a Child of the Forest who leads them into the cave, where they finally encounter the Three-Eyed Raven.
